En el Gran Premio de Austria, Bagnaia logró la pole position y se adjudicó su quinta victoria del año, tras su éxito en el sprint del sábado. Como piloto del equipo oficial Ducati, Bagnaia acumuló una considerable ventaja y cruzó la línea de meta con 5,191 segundos de ventaja sobre el sudafricano Brad Binder, que pilotaba una KTM. Marco Bezzecchi, otro italiano con una Ducati, también tuvo una buena actuación y terminó en tercera posición.
