Lors du Grand Prix d'Autriche, Bagnaia a pu prendre la pole position et remporter sa cinquième victoire de l'année, après son succès lors du sprint de samedi. En tant que pilote de l'équipe d'usine Ducati, Bagnaia a pris une avance considérable et a franchi la ligne d'arrivée avec 5,191 secondes d'avance sur le pilote sud-africain Brad Binder sur une moto KTM. Marco Bezzecchi, un autre Italien sur une Ducati, a également réalisé une belle performance en terminant à la troisième place.
